Privacy policy
We respect the privacy of visitors to our website, our pupils and their families. This page explains in plain language what data we collect, why, and how long we keep it. The website only collects the data it really needs.
Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is the Polish Saturday School in Perth (Polska Szkoła Sobotnia w Perth), Scotland. For any questions about personal data, please contact us: sobotniaszkola_perth@hotmail.co.uk, tel. 07783 140888.
We process data in line with UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Browsing the website
- We do not use cookies for tracking, advertising or visitor statistics. We do not set any cookies for visitors.
- Like any web server, ours technically receives your IP address and browser details in order to show you the page. We do not use them to build visitor profiles.
- If a map is shown on the contact page, it comes from an external provider (such as Google Maps or OpenStreetMap), which may receive your IP address and set its own cookies under its own privacy policy.
Contact form
When you send a message through the contact form, we store your name, email address, subject and message, as well as our reply. We use this data only to answer your message and continue the conversation. The legal basis is the consent you give in the form, which you can withdraw at any time.
To protect the form from spam we use Cloudflare Turnstile. When you send the form, Cloudflare receives your IP address and basic browser information, only to tell people apart from bots.
We send replies by email through the email provider the school uses.
Photos and the gallery
We publish photos from our classes and school events to show what school life is like. We only publish photos of children with the consent of their parents or guardians. Before publishing, we remove hidden data from photo files, such as GPS location and camera details.
If you would like us to remove a photo of you or your child, just write to us and we will remove it without undue delay.
Our team
On the “Team” page we show the names, roles, short descriptions and photos of our teachers and board members. A profile is only shown if that person has agreed to it. They can withdraw their consent at any time, and their profile will then be hidden.
Admin area
Only school staff and volunteers sign in to the admin area. A strictly necessary session cookie is used to keep them signed in. For security, we record who made changes to the website and when, together with their IP address. These records are kept for 12 months.
How long we keep data
- Contact form messages: as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, after which we delete them.
- The record of changes made in the admin area: 12 months.
- Website backups: 7 days. Deleted data disappears from the backups within that time.
- Photos and team profiles: until they are deleted or consent is withdrawn.
Who we share data with
We never sell data or share it for marketing. Only the people who run the school have access to it, along with the technical service providers who work on our behalf: our hosting company (the website’s server), our email provider, and Cloudflare (spam protection for the form).
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To use any of these rights, write to sobotniaszkola_perth@hotmail.co.uk. We will reply within one month.
If you think we are handling your data unlawfully, you can complain to the UK data protection authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change the way we handle data, we will update this page.
